You get the sense that with the wrong influence, Dave could have slipped down the nastyboy road and gone full Eridan. >Eridan is a full-blown nastyboy, and younger Dave starts out with some edgy habits too. Still upset we never had Eridan interact with the Striders. Do we even see them alchemize any funny shit? What a waste. It's pretty much all just talking about relationships and feelings. I don't think there were much shenanigans happening. Act 6 was otherwise totally lacking in it. I think that's why I liked Caliborn so much. And this somehow took five years to achieve. If I reall, after the retcon, literally the only thing that happens is that everyone meets up on the lily pad under Skaia, talk for like ten panels, and then Collide happens. And we didn't care about anything that happened.Īct 6 being five years long, longer than the rest of the comic COMBINED, compared to how little happens in it, and the fact that nothing comical happens in it, is just ridiculous to me.Īnd all the things that do happen - Dead Vriska turning into a punk lesbian, Aranea turning evil, and that's really all I remember from the entire act - just get undone by John.

And too fucking uninteresting.Īct 1 to 4 knew how to keep it short and sweet, Act 5 was getting a little bit ehh but at least shit was happening.Īct 6 from the get-go was utterly riddled with pesterlogs about romance and I checked out immediately. I remember literally not even reading any of the pesterlogs because they were just too fucking long. There was just too much focus on the characters and their relationships from that point on.Īct 6 is where the train fell off the cliff. I think that's where the comic went off the rails.
I don't know where it went wrong but I wanna say it was Vriska's introduction. Thank god for Caliborn, by the way, that character is the only reason I even stuck around long enough to watchĪct 5 was already kind of a doozy. Literally the only thing I remember is the Caliborn intermissions. Does anyone just not remember a fucking thing from Act 6?
